
Who We Are
Established as a not-for-profit corporation and registered as a charitable organization in August 2013, Barbados Canada Foundation raises funds:

To advance education by providing publicly available scholarships, bursaries and other forms of financial assistance to students of Barbadian heritage to be used for post-secondary education.

To promote health by providing medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and public health facilities in Barbados for the public's benefit and use.

To gift funds to qualified donees as defined in subsection 149.1 (1) of the Income Tax Act (Canada).

To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the above-mentioned charitable purposes.
What We Do
We manage the BCF Scholarships Program, which grants scholarships to students of Barbadian heritage pursuing post-secondary education at Canadian universities or colleges.
We support healthcare initiatives through:​

Donations of medical equipment and supplies to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados, and
-
Donations to other Canadian registered charities.

We support other humanitarian causes, such as disaster relief.
To date, we have contributed a total of $779,967 to our Education, Healthcare, and Disaster Relief causes as follows:

Granted 111 scholarships for a total of $407,000.

Donated 31 pieces of medical equipment costing $252,215 to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados.

Donated $75,000 to The SickKids Foundation – SickKids Caribbean Initiative.

Donated $22,000 to Camp Jumoke for its summer camp for kids with sickle cell anemia.

Donated $11,742 in support of Breast Cancer, Alzheimer's disease and Covid-19.

Donated $12,000 for disaster relief to Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, St, Vincent and Grenada after hurricanes Irma, Maria and Beryl.

Operated entirely by volunteers, we are committed to contributing the maximum amount of each donation received to the charitable causes we support.
